NYC Day Program - Overview

Discovery Internship’s Day Student Program is a terrific way for local residents to get the Discovery Internships experience while commuting from home. The Day Student Program is very similar to our residential programs only without housing, a meal plan, and evening and weekend social activities.

Every summer we have students who commute to internships from New York City, Long Island, Westchester County, Fairfield County, and Northern New Jersey. Day Student participation is limited to permanent residents of the area that live within a one hour commuting distance of the city. As a day student, in addition to your internship, you will attend our pre-internship orientation as well as our Career Accelerator workshops on the NYU campus 1-2 evenings per week (required).

Guaranteed Internship Placement

Your Internship Coordinator will help you determine the best internship opportunities for your interests, skills, and goals and then secure your internship with an organization from within our extensive network of internship providers. If accepted, your internship placement is guaranteed.

NYU College Credit

Discovery Interns receive college credit for completion of coursework designed by NYU faculty specifically for Discovery Internships. You will also develop a polished professional resume that you will create with the assistance of Discovery Internships and your NYU faculty advisor.

Career Accelerator Curriculum

From pre-internship orientation through post-internship evaluation, we facilitate engaging seminars designed to help you enter a professional work environment with confidence, maximize your internship experience, and leave Discovery Internships prepared to make more informed decisions about your future.

Personal Internship Advisor

Your Personal Internship Advisor will help to prepare you for your internship and support you in all aspects of your internship experience.
